PETER & BOBS HAWORTH: Double Vision Part2
At once love story and art history lesson, this 2-part bio of talented British couple Peter & Bobs Haworth tells how the artists immigrated to Toronto in the 1920s and took Canada by storm as teachers, creators and cultural movers and shakers. Part Two focuses on South African born artist ‘Bobs’ Haworth – a true inspiration among women artists in the 20th century, today her distinctive works are still a joy to behold. Very much the devoted wife, Bobs was also highly independent and confident, not afraid to separate herself from her husband artistically. She partnered with three fellow female artists in Toronto, and the group’s 1948 exhibit ‘Four Women who Paint’ was described as “trail blazing”. And that was just the tip of the paint brush for Bobs.
